Big Smile Playground exists for one reason: kids should have somewhere great to play.
Screens are easy. Backyards take a little more work. We make that work simpler by handling the hard part — finding equipment that's actually built well, actually safe, and actually worth what you pay for it — so you can spend your energy on the fun part.
Why we started
When we went looking for a swing set for our own backyard, we ran into the same wall over and over. Big-box stores sold flimsy sets that wobbled by year two. Specialty dealers wouldn't show a price without a phone call and a sales pitch. Nobody explained the difference between the cheap stuff and the good stuff.
So we built the store we wanted to buy from. Clear prices. Real specifications. Honest answers about what fits your space and your budget — even when the honest answer is "you don't need the biggest one."

How we're different
We only list equipment we'd put in our own yard. Every product on this site comes from a manufacturer we've vetted. If a supplier can't tell us what standard their equipment is tested to, we don't carry it.
Free shipping on everything. No surprise freight charges at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay.
We'll talk you out of a bigger purchase. If a $4,000 set does what you need, we're not going to sell you the $9,000 one. Our advice is free, and it comes with no pressure.

Safety is the whole point
Playground equipment is one of the few things you buy where the failure mode is a kid getting hurt. We take that seriously.
The equipment we carry is built to recognized industry standards — ASTM F1148 for home playground equipment, and ASTM F1487 plus the CPSC Public Playground Safety Handbook for commercial installations. Many of our commercial products carry IPEMA certification, which means an independent lab verified they meet those standards.
We'll also tell you the part most sellers skip: the equipment is only half the safety equation. Proper safety surfacing and adequate use zones around the structure matter just as much. We're happy to walk you through what your site needs.

Big Smile Playground is based in California and ships to all 50 states. Our equipment comes from manufacturers across the United States, which means shorter lead times and easier warranty support than imported alternatives.
